SNAP (Sports Nightlife And Pastime) is known to be a sports bar turned nightlife hotspot designed by none other than famed nightlife impresario Steve Lewis. Located in the ever trendy Meatpacking District, this highly acclaimed bar and lounge plays host to tastemakers, trend setters and the die-hard sports set. For this New Year’s 2012, SNAP will deck itself out and showcase its more upscale nightlife side.
First impressions are shaped by the transcendent décor reminiscent of a classic downtown 1940s bar. Guests arrive into a stunning space best described as a mix of luxe and iconic athletic details through mahogany doors sculpted with statues of contemporary sports figures. But the nostalgia of yesteryear is quickly overwhelmed by cutting edge futuristic technology in the form of 16, that’s right, 16 giant high-def flat screen TVs (ranging from 42”-70”). This crowd will be catching the New Year’s Eve Times Square Ball Drop from every angle.
For bar connoisseurs, the 35-foot long hand-carved bar will anchor the action this New Year’s Eve while guests imbibe on the 5-hour premium open bar. The drinks will be flowing into the end of 2011 up towards the midnight champagne toast for 2012 and well into the night. With a fully equipped DJ booth and state of the art lighting and sound system, guests will cheer in the New Year with style, swag and SNAP.
SNAP is outfitted with throwback sports wallpapers, photos of amateur athletes while antique trophies scatter throughout the 2,200 square foot room. Bar stools are topped with recycled game ball leather, baseball bats serve as clever door handles, and a 20-foot long LED ticker built into the top of the bar keeps fans continuously updated with the latest scores (and with the new basketball season starting Christmas day, those games and scores will be a close second watch to the ball drop). A look up reveals a ceiling adorned with cheering fans and spectators, a downward glance at the hardwood floor unveils a brass inlay art piece inspired by classic tournament brackets. SNAP’s VIP guests can indulge a bit more and enjoy seating or bottle service inside the private booths upholstered in football leather.
The fun never stops at SNAP, where turn-of-the century décor meets the glitz of New Year’s Eve creating a mix that can only be summed up as the ultimate lounge for NYE 2012. These celebrities have already legitimized SNAP as a bangin’ hotspot: New York Rangers legend Ron Greschner, NY Knicks legends Larry Johnson and John Starks, actors Blake Lively, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gerard Butler, Tobey Maguire and music artists Drake, Talib Kweli and The Kings of Leon
